As you all know, WSOP 2006 is about to start any minute and I am intended to follow it quite closely this year. I’ve been waiting for it for the past 3 weeks, reading the rules, schedules and a couple of behind the scenes interviews.
As it goes, a watched pot never boils, and I was really watching my pot. However, once an event you’ve been waiting for starts there’s practically no way to hold it back. It gains speed and you hardly even notice it till it’s all gone.
I did not want that to happen to me while I was waiting for WSOP. That is exactly my brand new countdown counter is for. Installed a couple of days ago, it used to show how many days, hours and even minutes are left till the WSOP. Now the counter is showing the time of the next event and how many days are left the main event.
Actually, I am even hoping to get a free DVD with 2005 WSOP recorded if this blog returns visitors to the authors of the counter… I hope I can still win it.
Hurray! I am back… It’s been quite a while and a busy time, but now I am again ready to blog and share what is hot and what is not around me.
I decided to devote this post to my favourite Smiley face as I just managed to find out the exact date when it was used for the first time - 19th September 1982. Isn’t that amazing?
The funny part, however, is that in Japan they use their own version of smilies which are really cute, something like ^-^. Looks very Japanese to me
At the moment I’m not sure what is more complicated - Poker or Life?
One part of me screams - are you stupid? of course life!
Another part of me has doubts.
This month I played online texas holdem almost in all poker rooms I found. Some of them I liked, some of them seemed to me not interesting. The point is that more I play more I understand that I know nothing about poker.
There are a lot of books about this game, a lot of movies, etc. And I really respect people who know at least half of all theory.
Today is the first day of spring!
Finally the calendar winter is gone and now we just have to wait untill weather will realise that it’s spring allready and it’s time to be worm.
Birds are singing, snow is melting and mood becomes better
Few days ago I finally(!!!) went out to play some poker (offline one)!
It was usual NL Texas Holdem. But one thing was really unusual - first time in my life I saw an offline fish. He was sitting with his “supersystem2″ at the table, and I was waiting the whole evening when he will put his glases on and start to have consultation with it. What was really funny - he was dealing exactly like tagged fish in PokerRoom!
Well low activity of webmasters is ending - it’s PR update coming. Actually it lasts allready for a few days, but anyway, finally it began!
I’ve been waiting for it from the end of January, and, as a matter of fact, not only me.
All of us already get used to see different PageRank numbers on different datacenters, but now it really changes! Before today there were only old PR numbers and PR zero for new sites. Today it looks like new PR can be seen for young sites. For example, anastasia-in-poker.com is going to be PR4 which makes me happy
SEO activity is allmost frozen, a lot of webmasters do not exchange links at the moment. They are waiting for Page Rank update.
A lot of deals are suspended, and it feels like you are waiting for a flight but it’s delayed and it’s annoying you.
The idea behind this whole thing is that someone starting from scratch will be coached into becoming a winning poker player. This person will be instructed real-time, and anyone can monitor his progress. To me, sounds great.
In general, gambling is illegal in most states. There are varying levels and degrees to which it is illegal, and of course many states will have exceptions to the law. In short though, gambling is not something that most state governments take a favorable view on. With that said, lets take a look at some of the accepted, exempt, forms of gambling that exist in most states. Read the rest of this entry »
